This is part 2 of the user requested video tutorial teaching you how to set up the midi controls in Ableton Live for the Akai Professional MPD I had a small amount of difficulty getting the settings right so that note-repeat worked correctly with my Ableton Live sessions. My questions are, who has suggestions on midi controllers but more importantly, how are you guys making all these midi controllers work when there are only two USB ports on a macbook pro? Some elements i created on live and then mixed using my Akai MPD and my keyboard for channel triggers. Having fun with akai mpd32 ableton live mascheme. I was at a gig last night and the guy before me had an f1 and i tried midi mapping it in serato but the f1 just wouldnt respond at all. All sequencing and effects and melodies played live, no oll added in post. Its more portable than the apc20, and it's bus powered i'm assuming. I try to cover everything i missed in part 1. Take the tour here: I go through chopping up a sample and creating a new pattern, laying down some drums and finally a bass line. I like the APC40 just because it is already mapped for ableton and it offers a lot of functionality with all the buttons kpd32 knobs but I saw Razy's setup using the Akai LPD8 and the launch pad which has me re-considering.

The techniques mentioned will help you de. Im considering buying the F1 just because you also get a full copy of traktor with it, and i really want to play with this new sample deck traktor has. Just messing around with a sample over some pre-recorded drums.

I hope to be uploading more videos to this channel in the summer, and on avednore. I'll teach you how to use drum rack to put some samples on midi keys and pads. Ableton does everything that Scratch Live does, except scratching.
